Is there a modern alternative to the old bread trick for soldering where you can’t get pipework completely dry?
I’ve made a DIY version of a jet swet but it obviously only works on straight pipe sections.
I get called out to alot of urinals , I'm considering purchasing the milwuakee m12 drain cleaner, has anybody got experience with them or can you recommend another tool for the job ?
Thanks
Hi. I have had this noise for 5 years and have had a plumber check it out and he said it could be a bit of solder in a pipe thats rattling and is impossible to find. I gave up getting the noise fixed and have lived with it.
A quick run down of what happens is when the thermostat kicks in and...
Hello all, hope someone can adivse me.
I've renovating an old, old house, and am in the process of replacing the radiators. So far, so good, but the last radiator in the house is a pig. The existing pipework is set into tiling and is totally immovable, with no give or play in the pipe at...
Hi all, hoping for help solve my problem I have encountered. I have fitted a free standing cast iron small radiator on ground floor. The feed comes from 15mm tails teed directly from the 22mm flow from the rear of the boiler flow outlet (same for return). The main flow pathway goes up to first...

Hi
I need to T into an iron pipe. Both sides of the proposed T are attached to stuff that will prevent the pipe being screwed into a fitting, even if I get the tools to thread the pipe ends.
How do you connect into this stuff? In copper it would take 30 mins.
Hello everyone.
Could someone offer me some advice as to how to deal with the following, please?
I'm removing a radiator from an en-suite. It will not be replaced. There is speedfit micro bore behind it into the plasterwork and it may or may not be push fitted on to copper, I'm unable to see...

Didnt the rules change on this couple years ago?
Hi guys
Should the check valve be after pressure reducing valve and before expansion vessel
Picture shows existing pipework with check valve before pressure reducing
Hi, this is my first post to this esteemed forum so please excuse any faux pas.
The red wheel head gate compression valve has seized half on-half off so I have unthreaded the nuts holding it in place (wasn't easy) ready to replace with a 22mm Pegler ball valve (bought from S...x - the only chain...
Hi all
Just after a bit of advice. I work on site and don’t do much domestic work. But a neighbour has asked me to install an outside tap and I’m unsure how acceptable this would be.
She wants the tap in the back garden and there is absolutely no pipework at the back of the house. Kitchen...
Hi all,
I want to put the washing machine in the garage but will need to do the pipework. The only water pipe going into the garage is the one for the combi boiler, which is also in the garage. Would it be ok to come off the water pipe for the boiler?
Thanks for reading
So, noticed this afternoon that the same jokers that filled my customers drains up with render (posted some pics in Matchless Plumb's "good or bad idea" thread) have also rendered the PRV discharge from the combi into the wall.
Its a quick fix, just needs the end of the discharge hacksawing off...
Plumbed some pipework in my kitchen for a new radiator last year, now the kitchen is completed it's time to fit the rad, although now i can't remember which pipe is the flow and which is the return, with the pipework hidden i thought I could solve this by turning the heat on and seeing which...

Hi everyone,
Been asked to look at a job, the customer and his dad have already ripped out the cylinder and 90% of the old pipework and rads. They will be doing everything minus the gas pipework and fitting the boiler.
They have asked me to do it, they are decent guys to work for. They are not...
