My daughter has all electric heating, however, the lower economy 7 immersion has failed (high resistance short to earth).
I received what I consider a ridiculously high quote of over £400 to drain the tank and replace both immersions (upper boost immersion is working but 8 years old so I assume...
During my shower yesterday the pump stopped working. The Aqualisa Aquastream was installed approximately 10 years ago and has been very reliable until now and has been a great shower. I changed the 3 amp fuse in the switched socket in the airing cupboard and the fuse is not the problem...
Slightly daft question when you can't tell the size of the space but I'm wondering if I should replace this 32mm compression coupler (circled) with a solvent weld connection? It was installed by a professional a couple of years ago but I've noticed the pipe twists a little, I noticed this when I...
Hello guys,
Struggling to find a replacement radiator. It measures 1155mm at the widest, i'm not too bothered about height but preferably around 300-400mm.
There are plenty of radiators around 1164mm and 1010/1100mm.
There are some column radiators at 1149mm but £300 each so I may have to go...
With a thermostatic mixer showers, can you replace
the unit, in a mains pressure unvented system boiler
configuration, by just turning the cold mains off
at the stopcock when the water supply enters the
property? Will the hot and cold water stop flowing
if you turn the mains water off?
Onto my 2nd loo that’s currently turned off as it’s constantly flowing into the pan. Grohe concealed but with no flush plate. Flush panel removed. I attempted to pull out the flush valve to source a replacement but the stupid previous owner put the countertop on too low down and it won’t come...
Hi, any help appreciated with this, ideally would like to avoid having to rip out and replace full bath, would just like to find replacement panel, but struggling with this
Measurements seem weird
Length of panel = 1690 mm
Height of panel = 535 mm
Length to start of curve = 620 mm
Size of the...
Our Salus RT505TX seems to be failing according to Salus as the battery low icon won't turn off even with a reset. It was fitted 7 years ago with a Worcester Bosch boiler, the boiler is fine and we hoped the thermostat would last at least as long. They suggest a RT510TX/RF but we are looking at...
Hi guys
I have replaced some of my Drayton TRV’s with the smart Tado TRV’s. However I have this installed in the kitchen radiator, the others I just basically unscrewed and screwed the smarts ones, but this one looks different to the chrome Drayton one (see pix)
My question is can this be...
Hi

Hello, I have a leak from the quarter-turn isolation valve lever for the central heating flow connection. The leak was coming the connection so I put some tape round to see if that stopped the drip. It has but there is now coming from the screw that attaches the lever to the fitting. Replacement...

Hello
I am trying to identify a jacuzzi / whirlpool / spa bath so that I can replace the drain plug seal which I suspect is leaking. Unfortunately I cannot get to the actual bath to investigate myself a common problem at the moment I think. The owner has supplied pictures of the bath, plug seal...
On bad advice our builder installed a no brand/cheap built in shower mixer in our new bathroom 5 years ago.
It has stopped working - and the water is almost impossible to adjust to the right temperature - and changes temp when other taps in the house are turned on/off.
We have been told that...
I have moved house and traced a flood to several pinholes in a washing machine extended flexible drain hose. I assume they were caused by a mouse since there are droppings nearby.
I have no experience of washing machine hoses connected above sink traps but, apart from the leak, it appears to...
Hi,
Yesterday morning my partner smelled gas in the flat and called cadent, the gas man came and he was not able to pinpoint where or even if there was a leak inside the flat, he tested the pressure and detected a drop of 1.5 milibar on the 2 minute test so he capped the pipe and said i needed...
Hi
Our radiators downstairs don't heat up very quickly and sometimes not even at all if the top floor ones are on.
The boiler is a GlowWorm Micron 50ff and with all the radiators on it needs to be reset quite regularly which I assume is because it is getting too hot?
The system is an open vented...
Hi,
Looking for advice on easiest way to move a radiator (only needs to move 10-15cm to the left). I have a unvented indirect cyclinder, fed from a standard boiler. All my pipework runs down from the loft (its a bungalow), through the walls and each radiator has a centrally located outlet on...
I need to replace my kitchen tap and these are the existing pipes - any suggestions?
I was going to cut just above the connection with a pipe slice, install the new tap with flexi pipes and then connect it up with compression fittings/PTFE tape.
Does that sound sensible?!
Thanks.
