We have no hot water but the radiators feel a little warm, the heating hasn't been on for 4hrs, does this mean theres an issue with the diverter valve and thats likely why we have no hot water?
Thanks
I have an expansion tank in loft feeding c/w to a downstairs gravity fed shower. this has worked without any problems for about 10 years. Recently the tank has been overflowing, replaced the rubber washer and it still overflowed. Purchased a new Part 2 float v/v still overflowed with the ball...
Hi all,
I fitted some new isolation valves on my bathroom sink pipes in order to screw in my new basin tap flexi-hoses.
Hot water one is fine, though been having trouble with the cold one. It seems to pool over time in the olive/nut area shown in the picture. I tried several olives after a few...
Temperature and Pressure Relief (TPR) valve made by Reliance.
How do you open and close it.
I believe its a twist one. Do you just twist it anti-clockwise
or do you have to pull it out a bit first
Never had water hammer clunk noise untill i had a new rimles toilet fitted a week ago, is there a more silent syphon/fill valve i could use, all the parts came with the new toilet therefore i am unsure of the brand.
if any one has any ideas that would be appreciated since this sound is driving...
Hello,
I fitted a shower last year that has two outputs, one standard shower, and another rainfall head in the ceiling.
When I setup the valve control, I made the median temperature an acceptable warmth so that the dial was directly between hot and cold and in the center of the valves travel...
Had a leaking flush valve in the cable operated Fluidmaster drop dual flush valve in the toilet cistern that initially turned out to be some limescale debris stuck between the flush valve (drop valve?) and its seat.....
After removing the unit and cleaning it all out I noticed what I can only...
Is it good practice what I'm planning to do. I want to drain the central heating and then put 2 isolating valves on the flow and return in readiness for when I purchase another radiator and that way after doing a little bit of pipework I can just top the system up. I want to drain now while the...
We have an external grant vortex pro and the fire valve is on the oil supply line 1.4m away from the boiler . Read somewhere should be a distance of minimum 1 metre away .
The sensor end is clipped into clip above the burner correctly . Just wondered if the fire valve should be closer or if...
Hi all
I removed a radiator off the wall and forgot to note what valve was the flow as I'll be replacing with a new radiator with a trv. Without putting back and re connecting how can I tell what pipe is the flow and what pipe is the return because I assume the trv goes on the flow. Btw both...
I can't see whether the bellows which activates the flush is supposed to fit inside the opening at the top of the valve or press down on the edge.
It doesn't seem to be aligned with the top so I don't know what's up with it.
Hi
Took the vent valve off which has a spring clip and sits in the top right hand side of the boiler, particular to this install it's in a cupboard making access difficult on top of a step ladder and sliding into the cupboard.
I have
Drained the system.
Silicone greased the new valve for...
My house has a separate central heating loop that heats an annex. The annex loop has 3 x radiators (all with TRV), pump (manually switched) and a gate valve. The gate valve is very awkwardly sited, and difficult to operate, so I am wondering whether it is a good idea to replace this with...
Hello All,
We have a Vaillant boiler, it has an advanced protection kit fitted that gives it a 10 year warranty. My understanding is that this is essentially a magnetic filter that captures all the deposits before the enter the boiler and contaminate it, thus invalidating your warranty.
I...
I have a dripping shower valve. I have take away the face plate and at a complete loss at what to do. There's currently a bag sitting over it which isnt pleasing the family. Any guidance appreciated.
Hi,
I have a Bristan Matrix Bath Shower Mixer Tap, the diverter valve has been temperamental for some time and has finally failed with a split rubber washer. The tap is obsolete and spares are no longer available.
(I have contacted Bristan.)
The bath is built in and access to the tap is not...
I am refurbing my bathroom & need to replace the dodgy main stopcock from the rising main. It is easily accessible and the job should be straightforward. I live in a first floor flat in a block of 6. When I contacted Yorkshire Water, to ask for a meter location, a rather shirty young man...
