12 showers

Hello everyone,
been giving the task of fitting 12 showers in a sports centre from a friend. I am a plumber, heating engineer but only ever do heatings. What would be best to fit for these showers, so there is enough and sufficient hot water? Any advice would be great. Thanks

Sorry I know. It's basically going in to a brand new building. So I have just a cold main haha. Would you recommend an unvented system?

Unvented all day with concussive mixer showers.

My friend is helping me do the job, so I will do what I do best and stick to the heating. But are they fairly easy to fit and what one would you recomend?

i would go with mixed communal showers?better to shower with lots of women than lots of men 😳

Yeah unvented is way to go if there's sufficient flow/pressure. Obviously needs to be sized accordingly

what sort of heating have you been doing??

Only been on one day central heatings. Combi swaps and conventional to combi.

Yer mate basins and toilets also. I am going to look tommorow and take notes. What's your honest opinion on them? Nightmare or steady ?

Needs to be done right. Get it wrong and they will come back to you to sort it out. I would ask for a spec to see what they want and where they want it.

Yer mate will do. If its out of my league am just going to say. Would love to have the confidence to go in and do it.

If its new build sports center it should have installation plans. ask the architects for plans it should show what's to be fitted and where

Another option is to call in someone like Kohler Rada, their tech rep will come and do a design as a freebie so long as they get the order.

May be worth contacting lochinvar/ andrews rep and have a chat to see what they would recommend from there range.

I'd be fitting flow restrictors to each shower to make sure the flow you have allowed for each is all that is taken. Possibly a secondary circulator depending on site layout. TMV's as already said, and correctly sized.

Like others have pointed out, you need the spec. Get it wrong and it could cost you dearly.... Any other plumbing or heating works for you to do on this job or just the showers, wc's and basins? Could be a good opportunity for you to get your foot in the door for these 'larger' jobs though....

I know be great experience but am thinking it's more of a favour for a mate. It's only a small changing room. I really don't think there will be a spec.
