2" gas pipe - suspended ceiling

Got a 30m run of existing 2" screwed above a suspended ceiling with no ventilation. Is this okay? Would you class it as a void? Can't find anything really to relate it to in my gas books.

Yes pal classed as an unventilated void, so tightness test as usual, then you must test the void at various points with a electronic leak dectector such as a gasco seeker, if one is not a available leak detector spray must be applied to every joint! Both of these are still subject to the TT results obviously!

Yep as the regs ain't been updated specifically for Mapress etc....

It's been a long while since I did any of this but why can you get away without ventilation to the void I am sure I use to fit vents at either end (unless fire compartment) to vent the void stop build up ?

If the void is ventilated Chris you can......or fit vents as you have said etc, suspended ceilings are not air tight but are classed as unventilated voids, unless provision has been made for vents as above.
Thats commercial work for you, it has so many variables!
