I’m installing a small basin in my down stairs toilet. The walls are tiles and I am having a mixer tap on the basin. I’ll be using 15mm pipe and I’m aware that I’d need to sleeve these as they will be going through cavity wall and then lagged and boxed in outside to protect against frost. However, I don’t have an SDS drill or any diamond core drill bits. I do have a corded power drill with hammer action.
Please could someone advise on what I’ll need and how I can drill a hole for the 22mm copper sleeve as well as the 32mm or 40mm waste pipe.
Thanks in advance
Stuart

You can't really do it without an SDS drill. Go to your local hire shop, they will have what you require. Buy a roll of denso tape to wrap round your pipe that goes through the wall for protection (and BTW a pair of rubber gloves if you don't have any. When you look at the Denso tape you will see why). If you use Denso tape that will do, no need to sleeve. Drill a 20mm hole and seal up with silicone when the pipe is in place.

I assume that flashband tap is the same from Evo-stick as Denso tape?

Also, Do I still need an SDS drill for cutting the waste pipe through the cavity wall (32mm/40mm) I was told to drill a guid hole all the way through the wall, use a diamond core bit for the internal cavity wall and then drill in from the outside for the external cavity wall to avoid part of the wall breaking up upon breakthrough.

Thanks for the previous advise 🙂

make sure you dont have the drill on hammer or you may be picking up a few broken tiles, you probs know that anyway
