Please could someone let me know approximate wholesale prices (quantities > 50 pieces) for a 54mm copcal stop-end cap and a 54mm-15mm straight reducer coupling. Could you please also suggest a large wholesaler that may have good quantities available off the shelf.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link. I looked at several UK supplier websites and they were ridiculously priced, we're using them in manufacturing so I was hoping to find to a supplier higher up the food chain who could give sensible prices for large quantities. Purchasing locally we've been paying less in Rands than they're advertising in UK Pounds which makes them 13 times more expensive than our local wholesalers.

Marv's in Cape Town and has a deep dark, dark secret!
Yep I'm based in Cape Town and work mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, not sure what my deep dark secret is....maybe it's that I'm not a plumber...oh and I sometimes wear womens clothing when I'm at home alone, but that's not a secret if you frequent the same websites I do 😉

Where are you based?

What type of manufacturing do you do?

Our primary business is design and manufacture of HVACR control systems, basically we build large control panels with power distribution and PLC's and integrate them with building control systems. We also build a few specialised refrigeration bits and pieces.
I have another small business that I started that manufacturers a very specific water saving devices for the mining industry and commercial kitchens. They're a very niche market but they save the customer large amounts of money.

I've recently been trying to set up a very old friend with a small business manufacturing copper light fittings. He was a fitter and turner who had a stroke and to cut a long story short I'm trying to get him interested in life again. This is what I'm sourcing fitting for.

I'm at the stage now where I'm convinced it's going to be easier to tool up to make the fittings rather than import. We have a semi-automatic punch and press so I've designed some tooling and I'm going to machine it in mild steel next week to try it. Given the relatively low volumes we need (maybe 50-100/month) a homemade mild steel tool will probably do the job for now.
