A better forum story

Aye. Mine's a large JD please. Splash of coke.

Last day of our financial year today - its been a busy week. 🙂

I'm up in bed on me phone. I'm going downstairs. Unsettling the alarm just to get another tin out of the fridge. Because I've blooming earned it this week!! Back at it at 8.30 in the morning.

Hopefully have a few boiler swaps this month. Really hoping so

Sorry on advance for any offence this may cause - none is meant.

However, do we let people in the arms a bit too quick and easy these days? The arms was meant as a place that those who had proved themselves could have extra banter and discuss other threads/members. But lately we've had a couple of problems with newbies too the arms?

As said at the start I mean no offence and I have no axes to grind but I enjoy reading these forums and would like to keep them better then the other run of the mill forums.

Last day of my 3/4 quarter this week, paid all suppliers before the invoices come in.

I am either stupid or clever ?

But I would rather pay pay all the vat I owe and claim it back rather than think my bank balance is All Mine !

All I know is that I was let in as a trainee with over 200 posts. And I believe three things have made me the plumber I am today ( I'm not saying I'm any good)

1. My attitude and all things about me.
2. My gas man who sees great potential in me and I am ever grateful for his tuition

And .3......this forum.

Being in the arms have me the sense of community. Kept me coming back to the forum where I've learned so much. And j have all of you to thank for that.

But maybe you are right. Look what happened with supper plumb and I vouched for the guy. Ill never do that again.

I'm not saying you need to prove yourself as a plumber, but more prove your commitment to the forums and attitude. Maybe a minimum number of posts and time on the forums plus a vote?

I don't wanna take anything away from the Mods as I believe they do a fantastic job but if they were stricter on the arms it might help.

Wife is in bed so may take you up on a pint. Breathing a sigh of relief as things get back to what we class as normal.........great to be in here and seriously we all feel the comradeship ( without being too soppy ) Downs it in one and staggers towards the door feeling a strange brotherly warmth.....

There's already a minimum post count of 100 plus a discussion amongst the mods.

We allow in tradesmen and trainees. And one sponsor.

I think by and large we get it right, I'd rather see trainees in the arms because we help give them advice we couldn't in open forum.

Anyway. Sod all that.......

I'm sure I heard someone's wallet creaking open.......

Bugger......

I'll listen for another wallet creaking open.... I'll sit in the corner, poised, like a coiled thingy......

Fair enough, as I said earlier I meant no offence and I think you guys do a great job.

i use this forum quite a lot to gain knowledge as im not full time employed in plumbing(building up my own business slowly)and i appreciate the help i get from you all,i also appreciate being allowed in to the arms as a trainee.bod, you know you did nothing wrong so does all the forum, dont let one immature person spoil how you treat people.
