The other day someone crashed into the back/side of my van when I was stopped just after turning into the road and the other car cut the courner and hit the back of my van over the wheel,
My vans hardly damaged but the front bumper of his car is smashed in,
I gave him all my details, he only gave me his name number and address, I didn't even get chance to get his reg. Before he left

Ive informed my insurance and told them I DON'T want to make a claim,

But he's rang me today, the phone call went like this with out all the details
Him: being all nice trying to persuade me to take liability
Me: told him I wont be taking liability as he hit me
Him: changed his tone saying that I reversed into him, and that he'd go round spreading lies about my company,
Me: told him I was ending the conversation there as I will not be threatened
Him: changed his tone to being all nice saying that's not what he ment,

What should I do,
tell the insurance company he's Rang me?
Tell the police?

Any advice at all would be much appreciated

Why is it nowadays that no one will own up to a mistake. Everyone wants to try and blame someone else, and where they can, get money out of them.

Can`t see any point in the police TBH, would make note of time of his call and tell your insurance about the call and the tone of it. One thing though you weren`t parked on the end of the road were you, you was just stationary waiting for traffic infront of you to move weren`t you!!!!
No officer, I was not parked.

I was stationary looking for an address just after the junction but if the other driver had stopped and looked up and down the road he would of seen me

You were waiting for the traffic infront of you to move! Unless there are cameras there, if unsure go back and look because at the moment you are on dodgy ground stopping there mate.

You've got his address, go around and take photos of the damage on his car, it'll show he must have hit you if its stoved the front of his car in. (And get his reg)

Or go around and have a face to face conversation...

if you were not moving and was on the correct side of the road then you have no fault. Sadly you will prob find your insurance will try and put it down as a 50/50 as its easier to screw you then stick up for you.

how can he be on dodgy ground if you stop it doesnt mean people can drive in to you? if your doing 70mph on the motorway and stop suddenly and some one hits you whose fault is it yours for stoppping or the guy that hits you?

if he came out of a minor onto a major road - more busy road. its his fault.
anyhow, try explaining ramming you in the side!! not a leg to stand on.
dont forget the whiplash claim for £1k as well!!

If you stop "just around the corner" from a junction you are at fault, it`s in the highway code. Sorry but the other motorway example you use is not relevent to what happened here is it?

Q. You are waiting to turn right out of a minor road and a vehicle approaching from your right is indicating to turn left but doesn`t and drives straight into the side of you as you pull out. Who is in the wrong?

If you go into the back of someone, it's your fault. Period. You should be paying attention to your surroundings. If a pedestrian walks out I front of you and you stop, then a guy hits the back of you it's there fault. I had a big bike accident years ago, in a situation regarding this type. And unless there's extenuating circumstances, as in you stopped for no good reason in a hurry your clear. It doesn't matter anyway, the insurance will still class it as a claim regardless of who's fault it is.
Someone rear ended me in traffic, they payed for it. But I informed the insurance, next year when I renewed it was classed as a claim.

hitting a stationary vehicle in any account or reason will be a very hard case to win!!!!

Call his bluff.

Ring him back and point out you have a dash cam, it shows the time and date of him shunting forward as you're parked and would like his insurance details.

Just let the insurance deal with it.

Then when all is sorted; wait outside his house late one night and shoe the ****er a few times for trying to mug you off.

I think the facts that
Ive been hit from the rear/side
He never gave me all his details and drove away very soon after the crash
He's rang me threatening me

Will be enough for the insurance to make a decision on who's at fault

I just think you shouldn't have given him all your details and him giving you scant information. It should have been the other way around. There is no point giving him your insurance details when he hasn't provided his. Your name, address, vehicle registration number and may be telephone no should have been more than adequate. On no account would I have given him my insurance details even if I was at fault. From the make, model & Reg No of your van, his insurance will pull up your insurance details in a flash.
