Hi

We have had a few problems with our heating for a while.....a plumber we have had said our heating system is not very good as we cannot have the heating and water on seperately...so like now in the summer we have to turn all the radiators off, as we need hot water but not heating. This caused a really noisy airlock today!

anyway we have been quoted £465 + vat to do work which would mean we could have a seperate operating system for the heating and hot water.

their quote said - drain down the system and replace 3 port valve and cyclinder stat with new and remove time switch and replace with programmer. rewire system to suit

is this the sort of price we should pay or should we get more quotes.

thanks for any help as such alot of money...but would like control over system

bit on the steep side i think but without looking at system and what controls you have at present
3 port and cylinder stat about 80.00
inhibitor 15.00
labour 150.00
so not sure what controls you have and what is being replaced i personally would have started with the 3 port and gone from there
