Hey Guys,

Im looking to buy a new 240v multi drill capable of drilling 30mm in brick and 127mm core holes,
I have seen the makita hr3210c and it seems like it will be up to the job but boy are these
things expensive.

Best price so far- Tool Box

Can anyone point me in a cheaper direction, while maintaining quality.

I used to use an old model Bosch GBH4 and that did the trick, but i no longer have it.

Cheers guys and hopefully someone will come up with the perfect answer.

So I ended up buying this for £350-

Bosch GBH4

Got it from somewhere else though and it comes with so much extra stuff in the box,
Like- sds drill bits, sds chisel bits, hole cutters, quick change chuck ect.
i haven't used it yet so i can't comment on its proformance...

@WHPES-
I know my friend, I was just looking for a little advice from
someone who may have actually bought one recently...

@REDSAW-
Yes screw fix are expensive, you need to cut a deal.
they do price match but like to moan about it too.

The makita is only rated for 90mm cores, may do a 127 but would prob invalidate the warranty if and when it burns out...
Best to buy a proper core drill for that sort of thing.
The cores will last a load longer too as the proper core drills spin them up a lot faster to the speed they are designed for, rather than working them at a lower speed but with a load more torque behind them.

Generally get the best you can afford. One of the most frustrating things in a job is being held up by a tool. (Normally the crappy drill i bought) pay the extra and enjoy getting it out rather that hesitating or dreading it.

Thanks guys, I've ended up buying a Bosch GBH 4-32 DFR Rotary Hammer with SDS-plus 240v

I used to have the old model of this drill and it cored no problem so i hope this one is as good. I haven't cored with it yet but it drills with ease!

I Was looking at the makita core drill but to buy two drills is a pricey business when your starting out on your own.
