Hi

I have an Aqualisa 609 valve shower which constantly drips. I think I need to change or at least remove the cartidge and chnage the 'O' ring. I have taken off the on/off plate at the front and there is a screw behind it. It looks like there is some damage to the screw thread as I cannot undo it with a screw driver, the previous owner of the apartment must have done this. How can I remove the screw or are there any other options?

thanks🙁

i had this oroblem - i had to drill it out sounds scary but takie it slow and it will come off.

also i rang aqualisa to tell them this and that sent me a new part FOC in case i damaged the plastic whilst drilling it!!!

In the past I have managed to get the point of a sharp kitchen knife behind the head as I turned the screw in order to encourage it out. As it has moved out a little I have pushed the point into the thread of the screw. This has allowed the screw thread to bite on the point and wind out. Have done the same thing using a fine instrument screwdriver instead of a knife. Also on one occasion I used a superglue drop on an old screwdriver bit and gently applied pull out force as I turned. All have proved successful. Worth trying therefore before drilling.
