Evening all, I was called into help a local hotel for the blind yesterday.

In the plant room was a 70 kw condensing boiler which had been converted to a sealed system.

Sorry for the poor pics below taken on my phone but Im sure the knowledgeable chaps u r, will see the clever use of a spare flue elbow used as a diverter for the pressure relief valve ! Genius rather than the water hitting the floor, divert it further into the plant room !!

I was called in to repair a leak on the condense pump.

I then asked why the 300 ltr cyl was so noisy they said it always does it, then checked the 2 x 50 gallon water tanks in the loft. F..k me never seen anything like it, it was like a Turkish sauna, all 2 tanks were bubbling away ready to split.

New H/water zone valve fitted this morning, felt like a life saver this morning. :coolgleamA:

is there a minimum size of system were it changes from filling loop to presurisation system?

45kw max on filling loop.
Water is 45kw> is cat 3. >46kw is cat 4. So u have to have pres unit

Great spot. Not doing commercial work I didn't realise what you were talking about but now I've learnt something.

Glad it doesn't apply to domestic cos I've fitted several boilers above 45kw.
