I am writing gas safety blogs every day this week

If I am lucky it will get mentioned in our local newspaper. My blog has been mentioned in the local paper a few times in the past.

I am not just focuing on CO. Yesterday i wrote about FSDs and tomorrow I plan to write about "annoying draughty ventilation" that those gas men keep insisting on!

As i always like to be a bit different I'm going against the general trend which says tenants are at greatest risk from CO.
Proportionally it is true.
but you could get the impression that home owners don't have CO problems.
In fact the figures are that the majority of deaths Have been home owners and the greatest number are old age pensioners.

Hi Tara

Great to hear you are doing something for Gas Safety Week. It's only Day 2 and we have already had coverage on Daybreak, BBC News channel, five or six regional BBC channels (including the lead item on BBC South West's evening news programme), a whole load of radio channels (with more being set up for tomorrow) and articles in a range of local and national papers.

Also worth noting that we have had pledges of support from over 900 organisations for Gas Safety Week - from councils and big housing associations and manufacturers to one-man bands who have taken leaflets to hand out to their customers.

There is hopefully more to come!

You must be living in a cave - gsr have been promoting it to "us" for ages.
And it is all over the web this week on blogs, twitter, etc..

i have been off work for 4 months due to operation and have spent most of that time watching trisha! lol

apart from this forum i dont use twitter or any other type of social sites, my phone has a mono screen with no camera so dont webface on it 🙂

I have handed out a few leaflets and written into local papers and magazines, only a couple of them actually published it though. I am also offering a 20% discount on all gas safety checks for the month. To be honest I havn't had a great response from it though

I have received a couple of e-mails from gas safe to tell me it is gas safety week but apart from that nothing has changed.

I certainly have not seen anything advertised in the local press or TV.

Waste of time telling the industry it is gas safety week if you are not going to tell the general public imho.

Al fireworks and no substance, what a waste.

It should not be up to individual companys to promote gas safety (although we all do as it means more business) that should be up to the industry regulator.

Well if half the industry knows little about it, is there any hope for Joe public? I'm still telling people after all this time that CORGI is no longer responsible for gas safety anymore! So the message is definitely getting out there..
