Any advice on this boiler lighting for about 20 secs, continually sparking and then locking out. Have read a few posts about it already apparrently its probably the pcb, but i just want to rule out the detection electrode. how do i do this? there are 3 electrodes, which 1 do i put my multimeter probe on? and which pin on the pcb?

i was in a flat with no lights, with just a torch, no MI's to hand, technical take ages to get hold of on the phone. The joys of our job 🙂 just dont fancy fitting a new pcb and then finding out it was the electrode.

yes i am i wouldnt attempt a complex breakdown or even an easy install if i wasnt. Do people put thier numbers on here?

ok terry sorry to put you on the spot but as you can no doubt appreciate lots of diyers come on here for advice, from memory its on the LH side viewed from the front its the one with the black cable that has a break down connector test to this with it disconnected then test back to the pcb the thermowatt pcb on this range is very weak, they all interfit regardless if its a 24 kw or 32 he kw you get a bag of id chips or micro processors with the new pcb make sure you fit the right one,one last thing join the GS only forum by pm ing dan or dave it makes life easier
