Hi All.

Ive been asked to remove a Ascot Sovereign water heater thats as old as the hills by the look of it. Problem is ive been told theses contain Asbestos and there have been lots of horror stories about them. Can anyone advise me on this please, also if it does contain asbestos is it best to get someone in who knows about asbestos.

Cheers

Some of the old water heaters used a soft white ceramic fibre which is sometimes mistaken for asbestos and some used an insulation that looked just like corrugated cardboard which was Brown Asbestos.

Ultimately it would have to be sampled and analysed to confirm. I am loathe to offer you advice on how to dispose of it though as the 'A' word (not ascot!) is a difficult subject these days.
