Is it law or best practice to install a copper F&E tank on an uncontrolable heat source.

Is it law or best practice to install a copper F&E tank on an uncontrolable heat source.

you need to explain the scenario better, but t answer your question, NO you dont, (my take on an uncontrolled heat source would be a coal fire, linked to a direct cylinder and originally connected to a galvanised, or lead tank, which would be changed to a plastic or fibreglass tank when renewal was required)
but as i say explain this job in more detail, as it saves us debating a lot of stuff for a few days then you come back with some wee nugget of info that changes the whole thread

Wonder does he mean,- is it law to connect to a vented copper cylinder for uncontrolled heat source?

I'm sure I read something (can't remember at the mo) that plastic is ok as long as it meets a certain BS number. It's tested holding boiling water for a hour. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

he is talking about a f+e or cwsc, its not law but most solid fuel manufacturers will ask for one in there mi,s,for my sins i have done a few solid fuel installs recently now the hard bit.....try buying one

can get a galvo f+e tank for around 50 quid from a local plumbing suppiler. harder asking the customer to pay the extra for one.
