Morning all, a new customer has approached me asking for a balanced flue fire as there current fireplace has had the chimney removed. The only problem is there is a garage the other side of the wall. I've installed a few like for like fires but never a Balenced for our fan flue one. Do you know of any fires that I can put 3m approx of horizontal flue with elbows? I would need to come through the wall into the garage then elbow a couple of times to come out of the front of the house at low level and then fit a terminal guard over the terminal. Does such a setup exist? If so any idea of manufacturers or suppliers? Many thanks.

I have never seen a balanced flue installed as you describe.
Can you not use a flueless Gas fire? it's the easiest option by the sound of it. It will require ventilation but no flue obviously.

I wouldn’t fit a flueless gas fire if you paid me a weeks wages. Rubbish idea.
Well Sir, it was only a suggestion and possible the only answer he may have.

I appreciate that you dislike the appliances but I do have to point out that they have been around ever since the memory of man are are very efficient. They are also safe if installed correctly.

Can I enquire as to whether you are suggesting that 'my' idea is "Rubbish", or the idea of a flueless Gas fire?

If it was my idea, then I can only respond by telling you that it was a suggestion and a very good one in my opinion.

If it is the 'flueless' Gas fire you dislike with a passion, should we therefore condemn all flueless appliances and refer to them as "Rubbish"? what about Gas ovens, Gas hobs etc.

I look forward to hearing from you with great eagerness lol.
😀😀😀😀

Thanks for the replies. It's as I expected but wanted to call on your wisdom before saying it's not possible (if it is it'll be specialist so most likely very expensive).

Well that escalated quickly? 😱 Where in my post did I mention you? I said “I” the reason I do not like them is people never ever get them serviced annually which makes them dangerous.
