Banging Pipes since service

Hi

I have a Johnson and Starley economaire 50 (2014 version), after a service the water is now way too hot even with the thermostat (behind the front cover), but worse than that, the pipes bang severely when the Interjan Water Circulator 'kicks' in so to speak. The engineer wants £300 now for a pump even though I've explained that it didn't do this before the service and the water is now too hot(system uses a hot water tank).

I've timed the water to come on less which has helped, but any advice would be great.

Sorry for being a bit thick, what do you mean exactly?

You really need the Engineer back if it started just after the service, for him/her to check it over. Mention the Phial !
It may be a pure coincidence and nothing to do with him or her at all but i'd ask them to check just the same.

You need a Gas safe engineer to look really a1chalky.

I don't want to explain in any depth just because you may be tempted to try yourself.

Just keep an open mind until you have given the engineer a chance to pop back in. Doing a service involves pulling the 3a fuse for the appliance and some electronics are just waiting to fail......

Or he could have been a numpty and just forgotten something, we all do it from time to time 🙂
