We first used it in 78/79ish on a council shower contract
i thought acorn was a solid plastic pipe that was glued together you could probablyuse a philmac or similar to join on to it
The Grey pipe that you glued was called poly york.
Brings back memories of sleepless nights, hoping that the glue would cure overnight.
yes i remember it being pretty instant it was the glue they use on swimming pool stuff now just push dont twist

But back then we were told we had to use a special abs cement (tangent) I think along with a solvent cleaner.
