I’ve fitted this waste overflow pipe to my roll too but seems to not fit, is it wrong for the bath or can I make it fit somehow?

You need another photo to show what happens to the out of shot overflow pipe.

It looks as though either (a) the joint between the pipe and the flange has been made incorrectly resulting in the flange not lying flat against the bath, or (b) the overflow pipe is coming up a the wrong angle due to some issue out of shot.

The simplest way is to disconnect the overflow pipe from whatever it's connected to at the bottom.
Then fit the outlet into the bath so it sits correctly, put the overflow pipe into that and see where the bottom of it ends.
It may then be obvious what needs doing to make it work.

Is the overflow pipe perfectly straight or does it have a slight bend in it?

Looks like a free standing bath with quite a slant on it, although its hard to tell from the pics. You'll need to as @snowhead advised. If you can post a couple of photos from further back that also show the pipework you are trying to connect the overflow to we can give some more detailed advice.
