I bought one of the Bosch equivalents of the Fien tool. B&Q for £70.00 it's a great tool.

However last time I used it, the blade worked loose and I think it may have damaged the little bumps that hold the blade in place. As said, it would work a treat on a plastic bath panel.

You should have bought it when it was on offer Danny at £49.99, I did. 😛

Its a fantastic tool, I used it yesterday when I needed to cut a bit off a skirting board (installed), a jigsaw would not work as the blade would foul.

Also good with the metal blade for sawing off rusted wing nuts under toilet cisterns. Aslo if your pipeslice wont go over the pipe it makes short work of it.

It just leeps paying for itself.

Agree with Phil, the Bosch one looks really good, thats the one i'd go for. Ive heard nothing but good things about it and its getting cheaper all the time.😀

but i find if i batten up behind the panel pretty good - use arcitrave (sp) upside down on the floo

Thanks, Moony, I'm half way through a re-fit and have been trying to think of a way to fit the panel bottom lip without some outrageously complex rebating of timber. If I set it out right it should nip in nice and tightly.

I scrounged a worn fine toothed saw off a joiner. Perfect for cutting plastic bath panels and pipes.

The problem is even the stuff out of the merchant's is rubbish. Baths in general are rubbish as are the feet and the brackets. If you have to buy panels then they are expensive for what they are. I use the wetwall sheet because you can easily cut & scribe to the floor easily even if it's off the level, a batten frame gives the bath desperately needed support, it is easily removed with mirror screws and the finish is outstanding. You can easily include it in your quote unless you do cheap jobs then we have to struggle with the crap.

Haven't done one for a while .. but I used to score and snap with the stanley knife.
