Bath pop-up waste

I'm fitting one of these fancy cable operated pop-up wastes on a new bath install. Due to lack of space under bath and need for 75mm trap depth (waste runs to soil stack),the trap water level will be just below the bottom of the bath.This means that the pop-up mechanism will be permanently submerged.Any likely probs? I live in a hard water area.

make sure its stainless steel or at least all brass including cable.

a replacement is between £18-30 and will nark you off replacing it each year or two.

cant you chop down floor board and lower stack boss?

Mod you suggest not practical. The stack is "nextdoor" in an airing cupboard. Access awful.

I think i'll take the Pop up back and swop for a Click clack type which won't mind staying wet.

Click clack are annoying on baths as you keep operating the thing by accident.

What's wrong with an old-fashioned bath plug, nothing to go faulty except the plug itself, then get a new one for 50P from any hardware shop?

PS I just bought a new plug and fitted it myself, I didn't even need to call in a plumber!
