Hi I have a problem with a customers 105e boiler on the internal pressure vessel at the back of the boiler the diaphragm split and water was coming from the Schroeder valve. I have fitted an external pressure vessel in the return and capped off the old 10mm supply to the old pressure vessel as it had to be left in situ and the boiler worked fine. I know have the problem where the pressure in the boiler is rising and discharging through the prv.
I phoned Baxis technical help line and explained the situation asking where could the waters be mixing to cause the pressure to rise. I was informed that by capping off the old supply to the pressure vessel i was in breach of building regs and needed to reconnect it (about as much use as a chocolate fireguard as I knew that already but then thats not possible as it will start leaking again) and no i cannot fit the original back in place as the boiler needs to be removed from the wall to do that and the new pressure vessel has been fitted.
My question is this are the waters mixing in the domestic water heat exchanger or could they be passing from one side of the diverter valve to the other your assistance would be grateful.
