Hi guys

Just posting to let anyone who might need to know that you can fit non Grundfoss pump heads to the body on the Baxi 80e model.

Ive fitted a Circulating Pumps CP53 model and apart from a small leak from the bottom of the join between the body and head its working perfectly with no obvious extra noise or loss of performance.

I think after a while of checking the pump and tightening the allen bolts the leak should go away.

Reason I thought to let you know.. £33 for the CP pump versus £75 for the Grundfoss replacement for those on a tight budget like me is massive 😛

well done, now me knowing a fair bit more about boilers and pumps, the cp53 will last about a year if your lucky being a re branded myson, grunfos pumps have been known to last 20 years thats why theres a big difference in price and if your cp pump head keeps leaking the water will go into the 80 ecos pcb killing it dead sorry to burst your bubble

Hi Gas Man

Ive heard about the reliability difference between Grundfos and other pumps and the general consensus agrees with you but im on a really really tight budget and needed the heating working again asap. Long term id consider forking out for a Grundfos but for now the cp53 is working.

Fortunately the waters not leaking near the pcb and ive got something catching it to provent the water running down the body and anywhere near the control panel. Hoping that it will stop with tightness and time but keeping a close eye on it for now

I always replace them with standard grundfos heads, slightly less expensive than the exact pump head, but still the reliability and they dont leak !!

Thats true.. roughly £20/30 difference between the standard grundfos and the baxi version thanks to that special body lol
