Hi guys,

My GF has a baxi combi 105 boiler fitted into her rented house. The pressure gauge has been soldered off, so there is no way of telling what pressure is in the boiler. when she enquired with the maintenance company, they said that its working ok, so not going to touch it. we phoned British gas, as she has their home cover, and they said it was ok too ( I think they did it !!!... but surely how can you say this?? health & safety regs and rules ??? !!!

Any thoughts on this please..

Regards carl.

In my opinion a working pressure gauge is an integral part of a fully working heating system... i don't think there's a law for it though... 🙁

when it goes wrong its the landlords problem, it wont explode, just leak to outside if its installed correctly

Phone BG back and tell them that your pressure gauge isn't working. Don't try to explain anything, just say it's at zero and you've no idea how to get it back up. The engineer will replace it, you can't pressurise it properly if you don't know what the pressure is!!
