hi there new to the site, having a problem with a customers biasi (i hate them), firt went round to have a look, cleaned up the ignition electrodes and flame rectification electrode and it fired straight up. lasted the weekend then i got called back.

since then ive replaced the electrodes/ flame rectification etc.. still not firing, i bypassed the air pressure switch and i fired straight away, fan fully running etc.

renewed the switch, still not firing. a good friend in the game has advised me to check the venturi. common fault?

cheers big bird.

you havent really given enough info?? why change electrodes etc and then start lookin at APS???

Right pain in the arse them ripped one out last week, all the clips were just popping off the pipes at the slightest touch. The tray under the boiler was full of water running down electrodes etc. Next one we went to boiler is whistling when the hot waters put on. Diverter valve and Heat exchanger caked in limescale terrible boilers tbh

You can try removing the venturi and check if its in good condition. I took one out in the past that was rather.. melted.

tbf i have no information on the boiler, i work for family and do little privates after work when most the boiler technical hotlines have closed. ive only been doing boiler brake down for about 6 months and only been in the game 4 years.

any bit of help goes a long way, im still learning as most plumbers are day in day out.

wat more information would you like me to state?

big bird.

hold up champ i wasnt being smart.... i want to help ya..... ok tell us exactly whats going on??? was fan running constant? is boiler going to lockout? power at gas valve? can you hear APS switching?? more ifo equals better answers!!!!

all sorted now! changed the aps and the fan was running all fine, still no spark. finally was able to get onto biasi and the helpful lady run me a few test modes from the pcb, then she asked me to change the hosed from the fan and venturi up to the test points on top of the boiler. ignition straight away. so frustrating as i hadnt been anywhere near them tubes, maybe because they changed the design of the aps? they gave me no instuctions to alter anything.

anyway job done im finally put to rest 🙂

cheers d.roche much appreciated for you help, sorry if i seemed abit hasty, im new to this as ive said before!

bod.
