Got a call this morning that since I serviced someone's boiler 2 months ago, it hasn't worked.
When I was there last boiler fine. I topped up system, vented rads etc.
told customer he had a very small leak on TRV. Valve would need replacing.
They never did it. So ye can guess the system pressure has dropped.

i told him he was very brave living with no heat for 2 months in the Winter. Asked him system pressure. 0.3 bar. Did he change rad valve. No.
He just didn't want to pay for call.
we all get em. What's wrong with a bit of honesty.

Yep, people think you'll do it for free. They don't want to pay

Had a lady phone me yesterday, dripping basin tap, cheap taps 20+ yrs old

Gave her a rough guide, she thought it'd cost a tenner!!

Errr... No thx

just had a text, tenants can smell gas, can I pop over asap, cheers mate

Fact: he isnt my mate, he took 5 months to pay up for the last boiler service, so I am not available for at least 2 weeks.

ps make sure you turn off the gas if you think you smell gas, was my jolly little text in reply.

Moral of this post, if you pay your debts promptly I will respond quickly, otherwise **** off mate 🙂

Ive got a few on my slow response list now due to late paying. Also i'm never swapping labour again with other trades, you pay me and i'll pay you from now on!

I had it two weeks ago. That shower you fitted the other month is leaking through the kitchen ceiling. I did the shower, tray and enclosure. They diy'ed the tiling, raf. They said that I had to go next morning. I explained it would be two days at least and just after 5. Got a text on the day to not bother coming as still at work. Not heard anything since. Also looked at when I did my bits, February last year.

This is one of the reasons I like to do the hole job, you always get the blame, I had a full bathroom I done 3 years ago, got a call theirs water leaking through the ceiling under the bath, it must be the waste you fitted, go, round remove the tiled bath panel, no my wastes fine thanks, its the hole in the wall you wouldn't let me brick up as you wanted to save on labour and do it yourself, I'll take my money and leave now
