Bristan Manhattan Easyfit spout seal

Hi folks,

I have 2 of these taps both easyfit versions and need to replace the spout seal rings on one of them but I can't get the collar off either of them. When you look at the point where the the collar meets the main tap body there is the finest of lines that almost looks cosmetic i.e. not a real removable collar.

I've contacted Bristan support and they insist the collar can be removed and even sell a spout ring kit for it, but I have applied a good amount of force already on both taps and not even a hint of movement, haven't used any tools yet as wary of damaging the chrome finish.

Has any one had any experience with these taps and managed to remove the collar and replace the spout seals?

I usually use a 'rubber strap wrench' for such jobs.

While you're at it, check your model doesn't suffer from the problem highlighted by Hamish the Plumber in his three videos here:

Thanks for the reply and links, I saw those vids awhile ago when searching about this issue.
I don't have a rubber strap wrench but can wrap with rubber inner tube to protect, but I'm still not convinced it has a removable collar, I can only see a very fine line, looks almost like the chrome finish has been applied over a collar and body.
Have had similar Franke Danube taps and the collar was obvious, but with this one it looks cosmetic. 🤷‍♂️
