hi,new to the forum and was hoping for some advice,my kitchen stopcock has seized and broken,i want to get this fixed but as i have no experience in these matters does anybody no whats involved and approx cost.

thank you in advance

michelle

Depends on a few things. Is the stopcock accessable? Does your external stopcock shut off ok? Usually a straight forward job if all goes well.

Are you doing it yourself or getting a plumber in to fix it?

hi,bit akward position in cupboard by sink,no plumber will be doing job when i fing one.not sure about the one outside,im pretty useless about these things as you can prob tell.

thanks

Ha ha, they're never easy to get to. SHouldn't cost much at all, but as many say, can't see, can't quote!

What area are you in? Plenty of decent plumbers on this site 🙂

Can you get at the pipe at either side of the stopcock with a spanner to undo the nuts (assuming it's not the soldered type)? If so, it's just a case of undoing it and fastening a new one in its place. Can you isolate the water outside easily enough?

soldered type i think,in bournemouth area, anbody fancy a look .lol
