Good afternoon fellow plumbers
I’m new to this site, I’m just after some advice please. So I have a customer who needs his old stopcock replacing, it’s black pipe coming up into the stopcock and then 15mm after, the black pipe is actually screwed to the bottom of the stopcock, I assume the easiest way to replace said stopcock would be to cut the black pipe as I can’t imagine that the fitting will undo? Fit a pipe insert and then fit the new stopcock drain valve etc, what type of insert would I need to put in said pipe?
Thanks in advance for any replies

That black nut should undo, and probably a philmac or plasson fitting. Black pipe could be alkathene and could also be 22mm, but probably best using either a transitional fitting/coupling or a philmac or plasson stopcock.

Thanks for the replies gents
Much appreciated, Shaun if I was just to go with a 22mm stopcock and a 3/4 olive would I not need to fit some kind of imperial pipe insert? Or is the ild3/4 pipe thicker and therefore an insert is not needed?
