Hi Guys
I was looking for some help, an interesting development has turned up and as I am not a gas safe plumber I do not hold this info to hand.
A customer from Scotland has asked if my device, hotun, can be installed downstream from a boiler in the PRV.
Now my first and obvious reaction was "I can see no reason why not" but I have been told by one manufacturer that the warranty on the boiler will only be valid if the installation complies with BS6798:2014.
Has anyone got this BS or more helpfully got the specific section that deal with the discharge from the PRV?
I know two things, the discharge pipework
1/has to be capable of withstanding temperature in excess of 100degC and up to 110degC (hotun has this rated temperature
2/ must not have any restrictions that may lead to a blockage
These are the same (or very similar arguments) that are pertinent to Unvented PRV discharge lines.
If anyone could shed any light I would very much appreciate it
Many thanks
Russell
