Hi can anyone clarify how to calculate chimey catchment space
I know class1 chimneys have 12litres and class2 have 2litres
And I know you measure length x height x depth but then how
Do you convert this figure to litres? Thanx

The way I remember it is: 1 Litre = 1,000 cc (cubic centimetres) (A 1300cc car engine is a 1.3litre) Measure the length, height and depth in centimetres, then multiply them together to get the volume in cc, then divide by 1,000 to get litres. If the original length, height, depth measurements are in inches, multiply each by 2.54 to get centimetres.

i didnt do my fires,
but if i remember, or not?.

isnt it 100mm cube 1 litre?

so roughly how many 4x4x4 lumps of wood can fit in the hole.

12 decimeters is about 6 2.272 litre milk cartons taped together, so if that fits in the catchment space then its about big enough.
