Just watching Cameron on the Marr show

Just babbling on & again won't give a straight answer.

Trouble is I can't stand Corbyn either.

And there, in one brief post, Rocket sums up the entire problem with politics these days.

Either un-convincing, un-trustworthy or incompetent.

What can you do?

Either stand for election yourself, or vote for the lot that you believe will do least harm.

A while ago, Belgium had no government for over a year. The civil service was operating, so the country could be run, but no changes to policy could be enacted.

I understand it was the most prosperous period in that country's history. 🙂

A lot of years ago when i worked for a time on a production line, we had a period of 6 months with no manager. After 6 months they had to give us a manager, purely because we were running the line better than any manager had done previously. Made the company look stupid.

At the minute, for me, Cameron is the best of the worst.

I'm amazed Cameron has lasted so long as leader of the Tories. He is clearly not a Conservative but a politically correct europhile liberal in the mould of his hero, Blair.
As a then Tory member I voted for David Davis to become leader & still believe he would have made a much better & honest PM.
I hope they soon dump the extremely devious Cameron & elect a proper Tory.
If he can't get his way with his meagre EU concessions ( He is asking for virtually nothing & getting even less ) I'm certain he will kick the referendum into the long grass.

Cameron presents generally a good image of himself and his party. That's all the conservatives need. Politics is a strange profession where if you tell the full truth and also speak your mind you will be labelled as too soft, or right wing, left wing, racist, extremist, dangerous. But many years later people will discover you were correct in your views.
That's why politicians speak often in a sitting on the fence stance as if in a job interview and actually everytime they speak their job is on the line.
It's an actors job to be a successful politician.
I would prefer politicians to man up, tell the truth always (with diplomacy at times obviously) and to speak less.

This is true - we get the politicians we deserve.

In my job, I can say "I don't know for certain, but my best guess is that we should try X first, and if it doesn't work, we'll try Y. If all else fails, we will fall back on Z."

If a politician said that, they would be ripped to shreds. By the papers, by TV journalists, and by the like of us.

funny how an actor made one of the best US presidents 🙂

during the disarmament talks regan noticed gorbachov (cant spell) was wearing a really thick hat n coat as he arrived, so Regan went out in just his suit to meet him, made the russian look soft at the start of the talks, and helped gain better concessions overall in the end. So it is all an act at the end of the day, just a matter of calling the oppositions bluff all the time.

Apparently Ronald Regans opposition politicians (Democrats) even liked him.
Just shows it is all in how you present yourself.
Therefore all we need is an actor in politics.
I vote for Mr Bean for Prime Minister

Most people might not like it or understand it or agree with me,
But every time ive had to vote ive spoiled my vote because honestly there all the same, your either going to get shafted one way or another it doesnt make much difference who is in power
