Hi
Can anyone identify the make and model of these taps please?

We have one dripping bathroom sink tap but the plumber we had couldn't find a way to undo the tap / take it apart to get to the cartridge.

So he's saying the only way to fix it is to replace the sink taps which would mean also replacing the bath taps. Crazy!

Many Thanks

Not ones I’ve seen before, but perhaps they’re the same make as the basin, Imperial? looks like the handle may unscrew and then bits after that, but I’ve never worked on those types before, so could be completely wrong.

Potentially:

- There is a cap on the top to pry off and undo screw below.

- The lever unscrews and there is a set screw to undo.

- There is no screws and the handle is held on to the spindle with a plastic push clip. Force the handle up to get it off.

Dealing with stubborn taps can be such a headache. I remember a similar issue with my bathroom sink tap—it just wouldn't stop dripping, no matter what I tried. Sometimes, those older models can be a real challenge to dismantle. Have you considered reaching out to another plumber for a second opinion? They might have a trick up their sleeve to save your current taps without replacing everything.

Brassware taps are plumbing fixtures made primarily from brass, known for their durability, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appeal. These taps are commonly used in kitchens and bathrooms due to their ability to withstand high temperatures and water pressures. Brass taps also offer a classic and elegant look, making them a popular choice in both traditional and modern home designs. Additionally, brass has natural antimicrobial properties, which can help in maintaining hygiene in areas where cleanliness is essential. Overall, brassware taps combine functionality with style, making them a preferred option in many households.

It's a pity that Bots / AI generated forum posters aren't trained:
A) to check the date of the original post to which they respond.
B) to say something of value/interest rather than inane generalities

But given most of their "knowledge" seems to have come from the internet in the first place, it's hardly surprising!
