I'm presuming not but keep hearing from customers that they have. Usually because leaks have developed on them since. If I can tell them I'm not allowed to touch them then it gets me out of faffing about.

I think they can - but why would you want to? You won't get paid for it (apart from by the customer) and if something went wrong the water board wouldn't waste time sueing you for as much as possible.

you can move them i guess but i thought there is supposed to be 40mm or less between stop tap and meter to ensure a fitting cant be inserted to bypass it?

i know years ago when i fitted them on Wimpy Homes jobs the water board inspector would make us refit fit them if the gap was over a few inches between the stop tap and meter connection. Since then i have always made sure when i fit them on new propertys that the gap is minimium.

only if its on private property ie customers otherwise its property of water supplier. they should move it for free if good enough reason

Just been to look at a customer with high water bills, two 'water saving toilets' had flush valves which were passing a treat.

Bring back the siphon!
