Can these typers of shower heads be changed easily?

I've been sent the pic from a customer who wants it replaced. What is that connection at the wall, push fit with an allen key? And are they universal sizes? Can they bought separately? What are they called? What year is this? Who is the President?

The head normally unscrews from the arm if that's all they want changing. I thinks it's 1872 and the president is Alf Garnett.

...are they all the same size connection? Buy one - unscrew original - screw on new?

yes should be the same size screw connection (1/2")

The usual solution is to nip into merchants, get mate to distract staff while you quickly disconnect head from display. 🙂

We had a case recently where a long standing customer nicked a display and got caught on CCTV. We just sent him an invoice for it, and where it normally gives the customer order number, we typed "CCTV Footage available on request".

He never said anything, but he paid the invoice. 🙂

PMSL. Some Aqualisa and Mira displays used to have little holes drilled in them to stop people using them. Maybe you got one of them?

So it turns out the thread on the end of the arm sticking out the wall isn't half inch. Bought a standard looking replacement from foolstation and it didn't fit. What thread size might it be? 5/8ths or something?

i bought a few pumps of some shady characters a few years ago and one of those had two holes drilled in it to wire it onto the display board had it kicking around for ages then i needed one desperatly and self tapped a couple of screws in never heard any more so must have held

ok so thread is weird. nobody in any of three merchants could identify it. one guy said it reminded him of the ones on european camping stuff. really thin thread.

either way, since she doesn't know the make of the shower i'm going to suggest emailing a pic to showerdoc incase they can - for spares.

however, if this doesn't prove fruitful, can you change the arm that comes out of the all to one with half inch bsp end? and how do you do it? also, given the weird thread on the shower head, is the connection of the arm to the wall likely to be odd/non-universal as well?

Unless the whole house is plumbed in weird sizes, at some point you must be able to get it back to either 15mm or 1/2" bsp. Just depends on how far upstream.

How do those arms connect to plumbing at the tiled wall normally? Never put one in. I suppose I could always take some tiles off and join onto feeds in cavity.

Normally screwed into a female 1/2" fitting.
