Hello there, 1st timer.
We have an old vaillant boiler, its at least 15 years old so I know we should replace it asap.
The problem we are having is that if any hot tap is used in the house the central heating turns itself off. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this please.
Cheers
Paul

What model? This is normal behavior for a combi if, as Hardy1 asks, the heating comes back on when the hot water demand stops.

If it isn't a combi and/or that isn't the case have you had it serviced recently? Could be a relatively simple thing that would be picked up on. I can't offer much more than that as I really haven't done anything to do with boilers.

The heating sometimes comes back on but more often it stays off so I have to turn it off, wait a while and then try it again as it has taken over an hour to kick back in and start again on a few occasions.
As far as the model number, as Wheeto asks, there are no visible numbers, or at least what I can see. Like I said prior to replying, its a Vailliant boiler, at least 15 years old. I'm sure of this as it's been in the house since my girlfriend moved in here. It was serviced in October 2010 but hasn't been done since.

probably good idea to get someone in but tell them what is wrong don't just say it needs servicing will be cheaper in long run
