I havnt yet used it. What can you tell me about using it?

Ie. any problems

Can you bend it. I've seen it bent but not 90degrees

Do you need to remove the chrome before you put a fitting on.

There's probably not much to say about it but all comments are welcome!!

most types today are table x basically it will snap if you bend it,if your lucky enough to find table y it will bend but the chrome may crack in regards to jointing only remove the chrome if sweating fittings on if going compy then use jetblue or similar on the cones ,obviously dont use pushfits

Yea I imagined the chrome would be damaged by bending. But I've seen plenty of it bent in pub loos ......

Go on forum regulars....insert witty comment here lol

I have always managed to bend it with no probs. Yorkshire do chrome fittings if you're (like me) not a fan of compression fittings.

if your going to solder it the best way of removing the chrome is a fine file or 80 grit emery cloth. happy sanding

Bend it no problems with a decent bender with clean wheels. Tip - Use a little oil on bender wheel. The chrome may dull slightly on the inside of a bend but usually very good. There are different qualities to the chromed pipe with different manufacturers.
When soldering, take the corner of a flat file & after you push a soldered fitting on, mark a line around the pipe just outside the fitting. Remove the fitting & file the pipe holding the file flat. Use emery to finish it. Don't worry about the couple mm copper showing outside the joint as the solder will cover that.
You will be bored doing this & want to use a compression, say in an attic dropping down to a shower!

just like any other pipe would if you use them wrong , you can always warm the area been bent slightly too

Never had any problems with bending it in a bending machine and I do this often for chrome towel rads. I use a Dremel to lightly remove the chrome for soldering and chrome compression fittings are cheap and readily available for above floor use.

Don't use brass compression rings on chrome pipe, use copper ones as the brass ones don't bite into the chrome properly.

And are you pulling 90s or much smaller bends

You can get any angle out of it, I just try to pull the bend a little slower than usual, although I have no idea I this helps the longevity of the chore finish in all honesty.

I use a flat bahco file to remove the chrome for soldering, the better the file, the faster the process.

Yeah i can pull bends on it just like copper pipe. Normally solder the chrome pipe too, file the chrome off

Chrome pipe is basically a coating, underneath is copper
