Can you post a photograph of the pipework you're trying to use, please? My washer machine drain pipe will back up with the drain hose from the washer, but when I put the hot water line in the drain, it will run forever and not back up. I have tried just about everything with the same results. Thanks in advance.
It is connected to the drainpipe in the wall that leads to the main draine. Is it connected to a spigot or is it separate, eg upstand? Also a washing machine will throw water out at force.
That's all the pipe to be seenCan you post a photograph of the pipework you're trying to use, please?

Thanks so muchNot surprising that's not the way to plumb a washing machine plumber is required . Kop
Excellent link, although worht noting 1.5" diameter is standard in the UK. We haven't quite followed the bloody American bigger-is-better concept that far (yet) so 1.5" is still more than sufficient for European market washing machines. The standpipe needs to be vertical *** Laundry Standpipe - Maplewood Plumbing - https://maplewoodplumbing.com/residential-plumbing/laundry-room-plumbing/laundry-standpipe/
