Hi All

I have a 2"steel gas pipe that passes through a single skin wall, unsleeved. I don't want to turn the gas off and need some sort of split sleeve that can connect around the pipe and slide it into the penetration.(no jokes please :uhoh2🙂
How's everyone's product knowledge? I've searched Google but not come up with anything.

Thanks
Dave

how big is the existing hole?

and are you a commercial reg gas safe installer

as you will understand we cant give gas appliance/ pipework info out on an open forum so, just need to get your post count upto 10 and then pm gas man (the mod) with your gas reg no

and he will let you in to the gas safe installers part

Plan B is to purge to air, cut the pipe and slide a 2 1/2 steel sleeve over then reconnect and commission back up, but what a ball ache for just a sleeve. oh and its 7 metres up in the air!!

What, if any, are the sleeving alternatives without decommissioning the system for a day??

Hi new member.
A sleeve will not be a sleeve. by definition, if it is in two pieces !

I know how id do it on a water pipe..id get some 2 1/2" split it with a grinder put the 2 halfs around the 2" water pipe after id put something fire proof around it stop it from burning the red paint off then weld it there then move it along the pipe of the fire proofing then into the wall however with gas I couldn't say.
