Morning chaps, anyone got any ideas on how to get a concealed cistern to be as low as possible. The situation is that I want the toilet and basin to be on the same side of the wall And all boxed in with the basin mounted on the boxing, a counter top basin, semi recessed.

Cheers

just fit it as low as it can go whilst still keeping enough flush pipe to work properly and allowing access at the top for working on it.

Try Flush Daddy Concealed Compact Toilet Cistern CIST12. Dimension:350 x 130 x 378 mm high. You get the lot - cable push button and it has ½” brass inlet, love it.

I have seen one's with an elbow that come straight off the bottom connection and into the pan. I just don't want it to be a really high basin. But then again, vanity unit heights are fine and they work with them. That thought has just clicked to me now. I wonder if it makes any difference if it is a wall hung pan. Shouldn't as you put it so the seat as the same height as any other pan really.

You can make up a flush pipe using ABS waste elbows & pipe to keep it really tight to the cistern Mutley. You may have to mess around with different diameters but I have done it before.

Grohe Eau2 are a nice concealed cistern, has a flush elbow already formed on the bottom of the cistern so they go in at a lowish height. Plus the fill and flush valve can be accessed through a removable front panel.

Plus you get the added bonus of the job of replacing it after around five years when the O ring around the flush pipe fails & it starts pouring water out over the floor. 😀

Oh really lol, Fitted loads of these in the last few months doing site work. How do the O-rings fail, im not a huge fan of how the flush pipe just pushes in to be honest but the o-ring seems fairly chunky and the flush pipes fit in there snuggly.

One thing I did see someone o with a Eau2 though is try and use a bit of 1 1/2 instead of the grohe flush pipe, it leaked as the O.D of the grohe pipe is a tad bigger than inch and a half.

I've not fitted any new ones Tolly but in the past twelve months or so I've had three jobs to change leaking concealed cisterns, all were the Grohe Eau & all were leaking in the same place.
They all had the proper flush pipe fitted too.
That said all the home owners reckoned they were about 5 to 8 years old so it could well be that the design has been changed since then. Nice compact design otherwise though & one of the few that has a dual flush.
