Hey Guys,

Seen a gas hob today which looked to me at a glance to be very slightly higher flame (just on 1 ring ) and very slightly what I would call a poorish flame picture, nothing crazy , just didn't look correct.
The engineer I was with kept going back to the hob, checking if injector was blocked, still same pic, carried on doing other job whilst hob cooled, came back and cleaned holes which still didn't cure, after a while of back and forth he inspected all of the black enamel tops and finally discovered that the offending flame picture had a very very slightly different enamel top, hey presto.
OK, I will get to my question, I'm very curious as to what everyone would write on the cp12 , thankyou so much for your time...amy

id if a different plate has been fitted technically the appliance has been modified so not to mi and as its not burning correctly id

In what capacity were you there checking the cooker?
Was cooker part of service contract or were you just checking visuals after servicing boiler?

i can't disagree with this, although i "think" like me that you know you are correct but it could be seen as a bit OTT, but best to CYA

It would be one of those situations I would need to see to make a call.
You say there was only a slight difference in flame picture. Was one of the other burners not the same size, so as to confirm it defo was the different enamel top by swapping around?
Due to wear and tear on older cookers the flame picture may not be the perfect pre aerated flame on all the burners, so as long as I believe safety is not compromised I am not going to cut off some old dears cooker for what in my opinion is a slightly non-perfect flame picture. This would apply even more so if cooker was not even on service contract and you are just doing visuals.
If parts still available would recommend sourcing new burner top, if not available would advise on replacement of cooker.
If I believed safety was or could be compromised; cut it off!

That enough typing for ye amy?🙂
