Gas Engineer
Can a domestic gas engineer write out a cp12 on a domestic boiler in a commercial premises. Feed by a secondary meter. Obviously anything on the primary meter is out of scope. Primary and secondary meters are located in the same area. Thanks

Thanks. I could do a TT from the secondary meter to applicance. Should I write on the cp12 primary meter and associated pipework not tested. Or is this really not needed.

Doesn’t pipe size come into play or am I getting mixed up? Up to and including 35mm?

If the primary meter and installation are classed as commercial then it is a commercial installation as I understand things.

I know there is confusion with this and people think that if there is a secondary meter - say U6 - they are OK working on it due to size but it is the primary meter that dictates what classification the installation is as a whole, including secondary meters and whatever follows.

I suggest you read through the IGE/UP classifications and decide for yourself whether you are qualified to work on it.

You can always contact IGEM technical department and discuss it there. Very helpful people!

Ok but my employer wants a cp12 for the boiler and pipework fit off the secondary meter. If don't think to touch the primary meter and pipework. Is this ok.

I know there needs additional bonding from the primary meter to with 600mm of the secondary meter outlet. At present only the primary meter is bonded.
