Im not complaining infact im a little moist and excited but i had a call last week from a custard wanting me to change her toilet cistern so told he the price and went on my way to sort it, while there she said she wanted a full new bathroom install a kitchen sink replacing and some tiling so i said ill be in touch with a price

Emailed her sunday giving her the quote and and she text me saying she got it and will be in touch, started to worry i missed out as she didnt get in tpuch but woke up this morning to an email ill frame and treasure, i gave her a price and she was over the moon with i continued to read and to my amazement she said she wasnt happy with the price and thought it was too low, so off her own back she added another £400 to my first price, she lives in london somewhere and has just purchased a seaside flat up north (the one im working on) my question is this what the hell do you londers charge down there coz its obvious she was looking to pay more in the first place

I cannot believe this has just happned to me, i asked for price of matierals up front and she wired me double i asked for lol

I would be spending some time doing some simple background checks on the woman.

That's my gut feeling.

I'm not saying don't do the work, just document everything you do - take photos - and keep all your hours / dates and all your receipts for everything purchased.

Got a call last week for a triple bathroom install, went and quoted and got the job (me and Kev), the custard told me yesterday that our quote was £400 more expensive than the other quote he got but we made a better impression on him than the other guy.
The job is spread over two weeks and we will make a decent butty from it, the other guy said he'd manage it over one week and do his own tiling, a stupid custard would have jumped at the cheaper quote, but every so often one comes along like this and you do whatever you can to keep hold of them.

As long as she doesn't offer to pay you 'in kind' this one's a keeper 😀
