Hello everyone! I'm new! 😛

I have a problem with a Danfoss TP9000 thermostat and/or heating regulation. I've just moved into a new house and they've fitted this as standard. Apart from it's being a little more complicated than others (won't rant about that here) it isn't regulating the temperature I set.

Basically, I've set it so the heating is on twice a day, and set to switch off completely (not set at a low temperature) when I want it off. When it's off, the radiators are still burning and the boiler is calling for heat.

Other radiators in the house are fitted with the usual temperature controlled knobs. For some reason, these can override the settings on the thermostat. Is this normal? If so, it's a bit daft considering when I have to go around the house and switch off all the radiators whenever the thermostat is set to 'off' to stop everything from heating up. Kind of makes having a thermostat useless!

By the way... the hot water program works just as I want it to so there's no problem there!

Any suggestions? I might be complete muppet or there might be a problem... either way I'm happy to know!

Welcome to the forum, stick around and you will soon see that there is no such thing as a dumb question here :hand:

I can`t help you but someone will come along shortly who can.

Can`t believe this has been here for an hour and no one has said welcome and guess everybody from central heating is down the pub tonight.

Photos of the rad valves and programmer please 🙂

No worries! Here we are...

Cheers 😛

Hi dead cat,
the rads shouldn't heat up when the heating is set to off on the programmer so something needs sorting out.
Could just be wrongly wired up or even a dodgy programmer - is it a new house ? If it is get the builder to sort it.

What are the times/temperatures you have set?

Hi,

Sorry for using this thread. I have the same unit (TP9000) but mine is not starting the heat. It is set on 7 day mode but all the time intervals for all week are set to the same temperature, 20 degrees (I had it for 24 for a while with no results). I have a smaller controller in the main bedroom and that only controls that room. The main bedroom is on 5/2 mode and 20 degrees and it's overheating (it shows 24 degrees now and the radiators are still burning). The rest of the hous is cold - the main unit shows 15 degrees when I push the Day/Hol button. The main unit is getting the temperature reading from a small sensor near the entrance of the house. It was working last week when we got the house - it's a new building. Am I doing someting wrong? Thank you.

Kind regards,
Marian
