Hi everyone
Im 31 and live in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, which is 10 mins from Glasgow.
In 2009 i funded myself thru a gas course (P and J Training) and achieved the following qualifications ACS, CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, CPA1, CKR1, MET1, Domestic Core Gas Safety, Domestic Central Heating. I struggled to find work for many months but eventually found employment for a Paisley based company called Commercial Gas Ltd. I gained valuable experience in installations, servicing, and many other areas of domestic gas and was handling my role well. Unfortunately as the workload grew and i came up against more complicated tasks that i had not seen before my inexperience showed and it was in the best interests of the company to let me go after a few months. I tried to find some kind of servicing or breakdown role after this and continue learning but again no company was hiring. So i had no option but to find other work.
Im desperate now to find a path back into gas work as im sitting here with all these qualifications that are valid until 2014, and i very much enjoy this area of work, but due to lack of hands on work i am somewhat of a beginner again and i would absolutely love to be taken on by an employer who would invest some time and effort in me for 3-6 months and i would even be willing to work for FREE until i proved myself again.
Id even take on part time/labourer/unpaid shadowing duties.
Im sure some people out there have been in this position before and know how it feels, so can anyone help?
Any information is greatly appreciated, thanks
