Afternoon everyone, I have a potterton performa 24 and had trouble with the DHW not working, it figured out it was the diverter valve and changed the diaphragm that had a split in it

when I tested it before putting the panel back on I noticed the hot water wasn't as hot as it should have been due to the water pressure being low, I then noticed when I run the DHW the pin from the diverter pushed the HW switch and also the CH switch?

Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer

Tom

Forum rules. Send one of the mods a picture of your GSR card and you'll be permitted into the inner sanctum.

Is it safe to ask if it's normal for both switches to activate when only the water is on and ill leave it at that? If it's normal I don't need to call someone out and waste my time or cash

Not a problem. What you should be aware of though that it is illegal for you to work on a gas appliance if you're not GSR. You are putting the life of people around you at risk and you will be liable in court should things go wrong.

Thanks howsie, last time I was on here about my boiler I'm sure it was ok to get advice on anything not to do with gas or electrics, it was a while back though to be fair, I wasn't going to ask for how to guides etc just wondered if it was a fault or just how the boiler worked

No worries. I'm pretty sure it's always been the way. It's different elsewhere I know but this is the best source of information on the Net and by dar the largest forum in the UK (second in the world I believe)
