Diverter valve

Had new diverter valve fitted because I was getting hot radiators when switching on water now the diverter won’t work automatically my plumber says he has wired it in like for like do you think he’s wired it in wrong I now need to get an electrician to see if it’s wired in properly could anything else stop the diverter from working

You sure he has fitted the correct type as there’s two types mid position or a diverter
