Diamond core drill

Hi,
Can anybody recomend a decent core drill? I have been looking at a Marcrist DDM2 core drill and kit that BES sell.

I have a Makita 8406. Done me proud for the past 8 years or so without any problems.

Core bits however are a different story, they seem vary greatly in quality. I bought a set of Ryobi bits recently which at the time seemed a bargain but they are hopeless. Not enough diamond I don't think 🙁

The DDM2 is a good machine and will do anything you need it to do.
Shop around as there are some good deals to be had which include core bits.
As Bert said not all cores are the same. Expect to pay around £100+ for a decent 4" core bit.
If you are doing it every day time is money so buy good ones.

I also am looking for a core drill. Have seen the Marcrist one mentioned, also Milwaukee DD2 with FIXTEC in line rotor for dust extraction via vacuum. (Third down at core drills,Milwaukee,dd2e160,DS2e 160 Mag Drill,Makita 8406.Hitachi DC120VA Diamond Core Drill Knighton Tools 0116 283 4021 )
I really want to use a vacuum with it to increase core life and speed of clean up.
Does anyone have any better suggestions - I will need a 4" and 2" cores initially.

I use Makita core drill and Marcrist core bits.

I use Bosch, good drill and use it for everything. Granted its not a core drill but cope's fine. Milwauki tools seem good but quite heavy compared to others

Everyones buying diamond core drills at the moment, I've been looking myself tonight and most of the Sparky's and Makita at Screwfix are out of stock at £139.99 price cut.

Got a mate that bought a sparky, burnt out after a few uses, screwfix replaced it tho

A Marcrist sales guy told me, their core drills with the stepped teeth are obviously better than the ordinary type, but he also said core drills have to wear a bit, before they cut properly when the diamonds are more exposed.

2 people i know have had sparkys from screwfix and both have had to have them replaced twice! i have a makita 8406 which has been reliable but i find it a little slower going than some.
